Crisis Disclaimer

Last updated: July 20, 2026

If you are in immediate danger

Contact your local emergency services or nearest hospital immediately. Do not wait. Do not use this platform for emergency help. Neayu is not a crisis response service.

This Crisis Disclaimer explains the limitations of the Neayu platform in emergency and crisis situations. Please read it carefully. Your safety is important, and you should understand when and how to seek immediate help.

  1. 1. Not a Crisis Service

Neayu is not a crisis response or emergency service. The platform is designed for non-emergency mental health support, counselling, and therapy. If you are in immediate danger or experiencing a mental health emergency, Neayu is not the right resource for your situation. You must contact your local emergency services or go to the nearest hospital immediately.

  2. 2. If You Are Having Suicidal Thoughts

If you are thinking about harming yourself or ending your life, stop using this platform and contact your local emergency services or nearest hospital immediately. Do not wait for an online response. Reach out to a trusted family member, friend, or healthcare professional who can help you get immediate support.

  3. 3. Self-Harm and Immediate Risk

If you are actively self-harming, or if you believe you may harm yourself or someone else, call your local emergency number or go to the nearest emergency room. Neayu counsellors are not equipped to provide crisis intervention and our platform is not monitored in real time for emergencies.

  4. 4. Assessment Results Are Not a Diagnosis

The assessment tools on Neayu are designed to help recommend appropriate care pathways based on your responses. They are not diagnostic instruments and do not replace a clinical evaluation by a qualified mental health professional. A high-risk indicator in an assessment does not constitute a medical diagnosis or a crisis alert.

  5. 5. Counsellor Availability

Your assigned counsellor may not be available at all times. Sessions are scheduled in advance and counsellors do not provide on-demand or real-time crisis support. If you need immediate help, do not wait for your next scheduled session — use emergency services.

  6. 6. Role of Family and Emergency Contacts

We encourage you to share emergency contact information with a trusted family member or friend who can assist you in a crisis. If we become aware of an imminent threat of serious harm, we may attempt to contact your emergency contact or local authorities as permitted by law and our policies.

  7. 7. No Monitoring for Crises

Neayu does not actively monitor user activity, messages, or assessment responses for crisis indicators in real time. While our assessment includes questions about self-harm, the results are reviewed as part of the standard care-matching process and are not monitored by crisis response personnel.

  8. 8. Do Not Rely Solely on Neayu

Neayu is a complement to, not a replacement for, emergency mental health services. If you have a known mental health condition that requires ongoing crisis management, you should maintain a relationship with a local healthcare provider and emergency care plan in addition to using Neayu.
